About the Author
Tammy Enz became a civil engineer because of her awe of the massive steel bridges that spanned the Mississippi River. She just had to figure out how they worked. Today, she still likes tinkering and figuring out how things work. When she isn't tinkering, she fixes up old houses and conducts experiments in her garden and kitchen. Most of all, she loves reading books about anything and everything and asking 'why?'

Great for younger children. It has some concepts in it that helped with teaching basic physics, kinetic and potential energy with a visible and hands on view.
Great projects! My husband, daughter and I had a lot of fun with these.
Such a cool idea book if you're looking for projects to do with kids.
My son loves doing the projects. Very creative. Great learning tool to help make science fun
Good book!
Awesome resource!!
Purchased for grandsons ages 10, 7 and 5. They haven't received it yet as I've been gathering the supplies to make a "kit" so they won't have to search for materials. It looks fun.
Do you like science, but do not have the fancy microscopes and stuff for big projects? Do you have spare spoons, potato chip cans, and other so-called “trash†laying around? Well, good news for everyone out there! The book Recycled Science by Tammy Enz and Jodi Wheeler-Toppen combines science and household products to make amazing things, from a solar hot dog cooker to your very own lava lamp! In the first chapter, you learn how to make things like a bow and arrow with Popsicle sticks. In the second chapter, you learn how to make things like an ice cream maker with snack packets (potato chip tubes, snack bags, etc.). In the third chapter, you can make a vinegar rocket and other stuff with bottles of water or milk jugs. And finally, the last chapter lets you make stuff like a marshmallow shooter out of cardboard tubes. This book grabbed me. It was really interesting.I would probably give this book 5 stars. That is actually rare for me because I am not the biggest fan of science. However, this book was really cool. I plan on doing some of these tests. In fact, some of the things that you do require only 1 thing! I never knew that you could do so much with trash! So, to sum it up, this book is great for anyone who wants to do an extremely fun and cheap project, or any science lovers in general!Scott W., 11, Central South Carolina Mensa
