had a lot of good design, proper calculations for expansion tanks, piping sizes, general considerations and a lot for install. there are a lot of reference mistakes that makes it hard to check work. some of the knowledge questions were wrong. NO Troubleshooting! it's geared for installation only. however if you truly study this book you will learn symptoms and know why stuff is not working it is all there. just no troubleshooting/service module which is what i really wanted. if it was 100$ or less i'd say it would be worth 5 stars, i still want this in my library don't get me wrong, solar module was lacking. for reference i'm an 11yr hvac guy that has 95% experience in forced air. and it was worth it just really wanted some troubleshooting and service condensed in 1module like modern hvacr books do. i flip from chapter expansion tanks to chapter circulatory to chapter properties of water to consider issues. i want to give 3.5 stars but for over 150$ i say again i expected more. no troubleshooting examples etc.

I had wanted to purchase this book for quite a while, but the price kept me from buying it at first.Well, several new projects came across my desk, and I purchased it to design and bid the work.This book is well written and illustrated. I was not only impressed with the author's knowledge of thetopic, but how the information was presented and explained. You could save a small fortune by readingthis book before you design or install a hydronic heating system. I have used other resources for reference,but I have never seen all the information you would ever need, in one resource. This author put a lot of timeinto this book.

I am a contractor that has been looking for a greener approach of building. I had a friend that was interested in putting Hydronic floor heat in his shop floor, and I decided to invest the money and learn the ins and outs of the systems besides the basics you can find for free online.If you hire contractors, plumbers, or HVAC professionals to install hydronic heat be sure you ask to see previous work, or at least follow up with references. ALWAYS get a signed contract. This subject is very much an exact science to get the efficiency, and longevity you desire your system to have to begin with. I have seen several poorly designed systems that cost more money to operate, didn't work well enough, or even worse, didn't work at all. People think it is only a matter of running pex piping under concrete and plumbing it into a boiler - they could not be more incorrect.Personally I have several contacts of mine that have hired professionals to install under floor heating systems - and failed to do it correctly. The home owner is left with a negative opinion of hydro heating because they trust that the installer did the job correctly, but the heating system is just not what they expected it to be. Truth be told if the contractor had read this book it would work correctly.This book is a text book - full of information and proof of engineering. It is well worth the $170 paid for it. It is chocked with 700+ pages of information that even the season veteran plumbers will look to draw information on for the rest of their careers. If you are thinking about building and installing a Hydronic heating system , I highly encourage you to purchasing the first (nd most important) tool of that installation right here.

Took a boiler maintenance class, again... and instructor mentioned this book , it's loaded with information on boilers and hydronics.I would definitely recommend this book for students as well as homeowners.

After natural gas became available in our neighborhood I used this book to design a replacement for the 40 year oil oil-fired system we had. It's not for the faint of heart if you don't have a head for math and science, but if you can wade through it, the potential system performance is quite impressive. This was a crucial foundation that allowed me to design and install a hydronic heating system for my home.

Like most of the people who need a book like this, I work in the industry. In my case I design and specify the systems but have almost no prior background in heating systems. I've seen many of them in the field being put together and know most of the principles behind how they work. This was a skim for the last 2 chapters for me and it didn’t appear to get any better. This book had all sorts of issues.First of all, voice. This book supposedly takes place in Denver, Colorado. This author does not speak American English and I don’t think it was British English either, as that is at least somewhat familiar to me. There were a lot of words that I could not figure out what they were, even by trying to read what was around the words. When this happens as often as it does in this book, it interrupts the flow of the book.Next is the point of view of the book: the book abruptly changed who’s view you are reading through, even in the middle of the chapter. Add in that one minute, the author is describing everything from the taste of the water to the color paint on the wall and the next minute, you can tell you’ve changed locations, but you don’t know where you are or how you got there and how long has passed.And if this weren’t all bad enough (which trust me, it is), the grammar is poor. There are random words capitalized in the middle of sentences and all other kinds of craziness.I was really excited about this book, because it sounded interesting. Now I just hope someone else writes it well. Sadly, this author did not.

This one unusual take on four brothers, Donnell, Heath, Clarke and Grayson who are attracted to the same woman, Kelsey. When Kelsey moves back home and has a new job she is able to keep an eye on her aging father and while out one night she meets not one sexy man but four brothers. Kelsey has an immediate attraction to them all and ends up spending alone time with each man but Grayson and she can not first understand why. They all are good sharing and once things come to a head that Grayson feels left out does Heath arrange to put Grayson in a position where he can spend time with Kelsey. The four brother’s have shared their deceased fathers business and their upbringing left some feeling different about the others. As adults those feelings come out and Grayson makes a decision to leave the family company. Kelsey gets to see what her and Grayson could have together and she takes a chance not sure where it will lead her! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is the first book of Scarlet West I've read so I had no preconceived ideas on her writing style or what to expect. Well, let me say, this was a pleasant surprise to say the least. "Playing Favorites" is a reverse harem romance that will steam up the pages of your kindle from the get go. Kelsey has moved back to her hometown to live with her dad. On one of her nights out, she meets four very delicious brothers. Now the fun starts! She can't choose. Of course there has to be angst in a good book like this and there is. Tensions rise, old hurts and feuds resurface, and new rivalries ensue. Do I have your interest piqued yet? It should be, because this is well worth the time to read. A thoroughly enjoyable, sexy read that will get your day off to quite a start. I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

On her first night home she meet the Bradford brothers: Heath, Grayson, Donnell and Clarke. She is attracted to all of them, but had a stronger connection with Heath at first. After that night, she didn’t have the connection she thought she would. She shares a night with each brother to see if she has a connection with any of them. This is a different take on a reverse harem romance. Kelsey spends her dates with them one on one, except one night. Who is the man Kelsey has a strong connection with? Will jealousy and the way the men felt when they were younger get in the way of who Kelsey wants to be with?

Kelsey moves back to her hometown, meeting the four Bradford brothers almost immediately. She’s attracted to all of them, deciding to date the brothers individually before discovering there’s no connection emotionally. Then they all share a night and Kelsey discovers that one of the brothers can touch her emotionally. Will the brothers move past their tense relationship for them to help each other? Will Kelsey be able to convince the one that she’s ready for their time together??Guaranteed happily ever after with some touching character moments along the way.I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a VERY steamy book from the beginning. It is also a romance with a HEA~I received this book for free and am leaving a voluntary review.

Well written, but some things just don’t add up. 4 hot brothers, very nice, very mannerly, but don’t seem to date. Smart wealthy Kelsey who samples all of them, with satisfaction. Jealousy results when one brother, Grayson, combines Kelsey’s relationship with his childhood insecurities. Interesting take on reverse harem, when jealousy and love combine.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Taboo but so good. Kelsey has returned home to be with her dad. She meets up with Grayson and Heath who invite her to lunch. These 2 brothers are waiting for their other two brother Donnelly and Clark. Immediately Grayson and Kelsey feel things but Grayson is shy and Kelsey leaves with Heath. Kelsey is a bad girl, or not, and sleeps with Donnelly and then Clark. Grayson is feeling down and then they finally connect. HEA!!

I downloaded this for free, because I'm interested in the subject and it got good reviews. After reading half of the book, I wonder if the positive reviews are from friends of the author. This book is a rehash of the usual law of attraction introductory book, with some of the usual stuff from other self-help subjects such as hypnosis. These things definitely work, but people who have read a few books of this type won't learn anything new, and in fact it takes the author quite a while to get to the point, as he spends the first fifth of the book telling his very unusual life story of how he became a successful cruise ship magician.One problem with his approach is, he seems to think that everything is about performance and leadership, and cites the usual boring, obnoxious sales superstars like Anthony Robbins and the like. If you don't happen to like such people, then what? Not everyone wants to be a pushy showman. If the author had been more honest about who his real audience is, I wouldn't have wasted my time.

Chad’s writing style makes you feel like your having a casual conversation with him as he walks you through step by step on how to perfect your inner genius to be the most success you, you can possibly be and then times it by 10. Unlike most authors, Chad does not just stop there, he goes on to show you the exact steps you need to take to achieve this. Then he reminds you as you finish the book, to actually take the steps, so it's not just another great book you read but actually put all his steps into practice in order to achieve to total greatness. I absolutely loved his downloaded Work Book. I found myself filling it out as fast as I could. New vision board was made, and now I am going back to finish putting all of his action items into my daily activities. You can not help to be inspired and motivated as you read his words. Since page one I have been recommending this book to family and friends and at least 10 of them in the first few days of me reading this book, started reading it too. This book is a real game changer if you put into action what he tells you too. It's so easy, you will say, I wish I did this sooner!

Chad Chesmark has hit the nail squarely on the head. As Chad states, the problem is that we learn things and then fail to use them. I read Napoleon Hill's book Think and Grow Rich back in the 1980s. I put the principles to use and made some miraculous achievements. Then I became comfortable and forgot all about them. Chad has refined these principle and reminded me of what is possible. If you want to be all you desire and accomplish more than you currently think possible you have only to do two simple things. First, read Chad's book. Second, put the principles to use and keep using them. They can work for you if you will work them. Thank you Chad Chesmark for reminding what is possible and what I need to be doing again.

He was famous for traveling around New York City on a bicycle - year round - and went through 30 or so bikes during his years as a roving photographer. And he was known as a New York Times treasure as his pictures and text highlighted the best of city fashion."Polka Dot Parade", text by Deborah Blumenthal and art by Masha D'Yans, is a child's book about Bill Cunningham. his life, and his work. (For adults who want to know more Cunningham, his memoir-of-sorts, "Fashion Climbing: A Memoir with Photographs", was recently published). This book is a child's book with an adult subject. I don't think too many 4-8 year old knew who Bill Cunningham was, but the superb text and artwork will interest a savvy child who is into fashion.I bought the book for my 5-1/2 year old granddaughter who I think will be interested in Bill Cunningham and his way of riding around the city on a bike and trying to find "interesting" people to photograph. She - and her younger sister - are very much into clothes and what they wear on a daily basis. Both are into accessories and both "vogue", without knowing what they're doing. They also love having their pictures taken. So, I'm hoping this book with the beautiful art and words will interest her.

A must-read for anyone struggling with thoughts of existantialism and/or a fan of horror. I've always been an optimistic person--I don't necessarily believe in a "purpose" for life, but I've been taught to see the silver lining in every situation. Ligotti's arguments can be very depressing at times because he gets into the core of the things we're afraid to think about. Even if you think you'll disagree with his views, as I do, this is still an incredible and mind-boggling read.

Ligotti's anti-humanism is far more profound that the utilitarian influenced anti-natalism it is often naively linked to. Ligotti explores the anti-human and cosmic perspective that has often been expressed in weird fiction, and not just his own, but he may be its most articulate and interesting spokesperson. Ligotti themes around the terror of nihilism and the inability to accept a lesser role in the universe after wrapped in delicious aphorism and almost jet black humor: "Life is a confidence trick we must run on ourselves, hoping we do not catch on to any monkey business that would have us stripped of our defense mechanisms and standing stark naked before the silent, starring void" and "This would be for the good of all, for even those who know nothing about the conspiracy against the human race are among its injured parties.”Now sometimes philosophical precision is lost for tone and character, but Ligotti is one of the more profound thinkers on the ennui of modern nihilism, the silliness of the assumption of an anthro-centric world view, and the relationship between knowledge and depression. Ligotti's scalpel can have a light touch and a compression where he has cut out a key part of the reader's ego without the reader first noticing.This does not mean we should embrace Ligotti's cosmic anti-humanism, but this book shows the seriousness of that vision which is often wrapped in Lovecraftian cults and alien gods. Indeed, the weight of a world that is not built around us must be dealt with by any serious thinker. Philosophers and theorists such as Ray Brassier and Eugene Thacker, regardless of what you think of their work, do illustrate that one should talke Ligotti seriously, even when he is expressing it in pure fiction.

STOP! Read the title of this review again. Do you see what is going on here? The question answers itself. “What do you want?” Answer: “out of life.” Birth itself should be evidence enough to anyone as to having lost in the genetic lottery. The fortunate are the not-born though ‘they’ will never be aware of their good fortune. The unfortunates are those who are born and painfully aware of it - of birth and its consequences; condemned to both a life sentence and a death sentence; only human existence could contain and condemn us to such a tragic irony. Consciousness is a distortion of existence and creates an experience of tension and struggle. In terms of existence, consciousness is derivative, secondary and actually parasitic. This renders existence itself a burden. We are victimized by Fate, tyrannized by evolution and cursed by genetics. This tortured existence is the root of our tormented human experience.The only defense is not to be fooled by hope or to be made a fool out of by hope. Our best chance at ethics is when we see each other as the fellow prisoners thrown into a world that refuses to reveal itself to us and that will always retain some hidden features just beyond our grasp no matter how much we come to understand. In terms of the overall conspiracy, the only important feature of our existence revealed to us is the permanent inscrutability of our existence in a blank, anonymous and indifferent world. If you have read this far then I am sorry because you cannot unread this review or unlearn these most fundamental principles of human existence unless you prefer to live in state of self-deception (as most people need to do), so you might as well continue and read this book, explore the darkness and learn just how deep the conspiracy against the human race runs but you may not like what you find. Alternatively, it may confirm what you already suspect. On the bright side, at least the human race is not totally bereft and barren, it at least begets, confusion, contradiction and conspiracy. In any case, just understand that writer of this review is one who is in a state of existence without Being.

Thank you for writing all these arguments and elaborations so eloquently. Sometimes, books on antinatalism, or just pessimism in general, can be so daunting to read. Some authors can become long-winded or too "academic," no matter how valid their points are. This book is superbly well-argued and captivating to read.Life as we know it is "malignantly useless." This bleak but true viewpoint is all there is to so-called "awakening," or "enlightenment." If we exist as humans, we have already lost a terrible lottery, and we are doomed to consciously continue this miserable existence until death. But at least, for some hours, I have felt that someone else truly understands, and it is almost heartwarming to know that I am not insane, or alone, in this wretchedness.

The book may not be the best example of what clear writing ought to look like, but Ligotti does have some awesome one-liners. The thesis, although not new to philosophers of mind, is compelling: forget all that nonsense about how special humans are. We are basically miserable, bipedal dadelions, just more biologically complex.

Ligotti delves into his exploration of pessimistic and nihilistic philosophies without pulling any punches. This is a must read for anybody considering why human life truly sucks and if it really needs to go any further.
